Best Friends

Our good friends, Mike and Bonnie, just had a baby boy named River.  He is a little over a week old.  We went over to their house today to meet River.  We are hoping to nanny share with them starting in February for a few years.  I can't wait for them to become best buds!

Valley

I had Monday, October 14, off for work so I decided to take a personal day the Friday before and take a long weekend so Brax and I could fly and see my parents.  We met Mike, Kelly, and Ava on Friday for lunch while the other kids were in school.  We did some shopping and bought Brax some shoes, clothes, and toys.  We stayed home on Saturday and watched the Husker game.  We went to church and met Wade's family for lunch.  All the first cousins came out for dinner.  I went for a few long runs and actually got the chance to take a few naps!  It was a wonderful weekend!  Going home to see your parents is good for the soul.

Friday Night Dinners

Before Brax was born, Wade and I would go golfing and out to dinner every Friday after work.  I looked forward to it all week.  Now, Wade and I go to dinner with Brax after work on Fridays.  It is still one of my favorite things I look forward to doing as a family.  Soon enough, we will all be able to go golfing as a family.  Last Friday, we went to dinner with our friends, Mike and Bonnie.  It was the last time we saw them before they had their baby.  They just had a little boy named River.  I can't wait for Brax and River to become best friends.  Anyway, here is Brax dressed up and ready to go to dinner.  I do love putting cute hats on him in the cooler weather.  He was pretty smiley on the car ride to dinner.  Then, he crashed after dinner on the way to Target.

Territorial Ava

Ava is Brax's youngest first cousin.  She is two and a half years old.  Brax sleeps in her pack n play when we stay at my parent's house.  When she came over on Sunday, Brax was taking a nap.  She said, "I'll go get Brax out of my bed."  Then, when he did wake up, she went into the bedroom and took his blanket out of her bed and brought it to me.  While I was giving Brax a bath, she said, "That is my soap."  I thanked her for sharing with Brax.  Then, when I was changing Brax's diaper, she said, "That is my cream, and those are my wipes."  She took the cream and wipes and set them by the door so she could take them home.  She sure isn't used to having someone younger around that uses her things.  Ava, you make me laugh!  Here are Ava and Brax when we met Mike and Kelly for lunch one day while the other kids were in school.

Gina

Gina is Brax's oldest first cousin.  She has four younger siblings so she is pretty seasoned and can make Brax smile.  Here they are together.  It's still hard to believe Gina is in high school since I met her when she was just starting Kindergarten!
