Nigh Nigh Time

What child goes to bed with his dog, blankies, a football, and a basketball?  That would be Brax!

Busy Day

We had a day full of activities.  We started off the day with a 7 a.m. playdate with the 9 month old twins, Eliza and Emmett, from next door.  Then, we went to Target to pick up a few things and headed to Brax's school to drop off a donation of books and shorts.  Then, Brax went to his first dental appointment.  He would not open his mouth at all and didn't quite know what to do with his first sucker.  They recommended a toothpaste and said to come back in a year, and we'd try again.  Since our dentist is downtown, we met Wade for lunch afterwards and enjoyed some pizza although Brax only ate a pouch and some french fries.  Then, we went home for a nap.  After nap, we met our other neighbor and her one month old son for yogurt ice cream.  A new Yogurtland opened up by us and was serving free yogurt ice cream and toppings today.  Brax really wanted a balloon a.ka. ball.  It gave his football a break for a bit.

Shapes

Brax knows the following four shapes very well and will point them out whenever we see anything that resembles the shapes.  His absolute favorite shape is the oval, most likely since the football resembles an oval.

And, of course, he thinks anything in the shape of a moon is a banana regardless of the color.

B

Well, a few weeks ago, I started teaching Brax the letter B.  He caught on pretty fast and walked up to me with the yellow basketball saying B.  However, anytime he sees a letter, he thinks it's the letter B so I decided to teach him the letter A, but he is still pretty stuck on thinking every letter is B.  Oh, well, it's a start.

Talking

I am so glad that Brax is such a talker!  I can't even keep track of all the words he knows, now.  We can pretty much tell him something once or twice, and he picks up on it.  Today, at lunch, he kept repeating the word "Gogurt" while he was eating one.  He really likes telling us when things are wet or making things wet in his water table.  The other night, he got food on his football.  The nanny washed it off and dried it with a kitchen towel and told him it was dry.  Today, he went to get the kitchen towel, wiped his football, and told me it was dry.  Also, I really like all the sound effects he copies from Wade.  It is pretty cute when he needs help and says, "Help me!"  It is so fun watching him learn so many new things!  I will have to try and get a video of him talking soon.  However, just like when we ask him to talk for other people or for the camera, he tends to not talk.  Typical kid! :)
