Heart of Gold

Right before they took Brax away for his heart surgery, the heart surgeon gave us the Willow Tree Heart of Gold figurine. It touched us and made us feel as though he was a special patient to them. Now, it sits on his dresser, and I am so proud of him every time I look at it. Hopefully, it will be a special reminder to him as he grows older of what a special boy he is.

Rockies

Brax went to his first Rockies game. It was on a Friday night, and we went with some neighbors and friends. It was a perfect night for a game. It only sprinkled a bit, and then, there was a rainbow which is special since there was a rainbow during our wedding ceremony. The first two innings lasted forever. The Rockies won 11-1 against the Pirates so it wasn't a nail biter. Brax was pretty happy and content for the entire game. He stayed awake for it all, too. Everyone thought he was really cute and wanted to hold him. We left when the game was getting over around 9:30. Brax fell asleep in the car. Then, I put him to bed when we got home, and he didn't get up until 6:00. I couldn't believe it! We should go to a Rockies game every night if it means he will sleep that long. It was a good time, but I can't wait to take him to his first Nuggets game.

Henderson

When we went back to Nebraska, we stayed with Wade's mom first for three nights. We hung out at her new house with Grammy and Jill. We made a trip to Wal-Mart. On Sunday, Aunt Jerri and Uncle Dee came over with Phil and Stacey and their three boys. We had a good time and ate lots of good food. On Monday, Jodi and I went to the pool for water aerobics while Wade visited Grammy with Brax. I really enjoyed my first water aerobics class. Wade brought Brax over after the class for a swim. It was his first time in a real pool. I'm not sure he really knew what to think, but he didn't seem to mind too much. Nana also has a dog so it was the first time Brax was really around a dog for an extended period of time. Brax and Izzie pretty much ignored each other most of the time. I am sure the next time we visit he will be more excited about her. I am not sure how we didn't get a picture of Brax and Nana together. We have to be better about that when we visit! I was not very happy with Wade since he is in charge of pictures! Sorry, Nana! Next time, we will have a Nana and Brax photo shoot.

Love this Photo

This is one of my favorite photos from our Nebraska trip. It is a picture of Brax on Wade's lap holding onto Grammy's finger on one side and Aunt Jill's finger on the other side. Too sweet!

We just love Grammy so much! We are so lucky to have her in our life, and Brax is so lucky to have a great-grandmother, a GG!

Here is a picture of Grammy in her younger years. Quite the beauty!

Farm Photo Shoot

While we were at my parents, we walked around the farm and took some photos. There are lots of opportunities for photos on the farm. Can't wait to keep taking pictures there as Brax gets older. I'm sure he will enjoy it much more when he can play, too. I just love the picture of him driving the little tractor, and of course, he had to wear his John Deere outfit!

Mt. Lincoln

One of my goals since I have moved to Colorado is to hike a 14er. These are mountains that are higher than 14,000 feet in elevation. There are 53 fourteeners in Colorado. I thought Mt. Lincoln was a good sign since I am from Nebraska and a Husker fan. Laura was nice enough to go with me even though she is quite the advanced hiker and much faster than me. She set a good pace for me to follow. It was very difficult. On the ascent, I was out of breath most of the way, and the descent is difficult because of the balance you have to keep on your legs. Plus, walking on big chunky rocks isn't the easiest either. I was impressed that some people were hiking another 14er, Mt. Democrat, along with Mt. Lincoln. There were also some kids out hiking with their parents. We left at 5:00 a.m. to drive there and started the hike around 7:15. We finished the hike around 1:15 right before the storm came in. It was such an accomplishment, and the views on top were just beautiful! Thank you Laura for such a great day! And thank you Wade for watching Brax all day so I could go hiking!
