Go Big Red!
Nebraska looked pretty good today. Check out the videos of Brax saying "Go Big Red" and signing touchdown. Now, if he would just sit and watch the football game!

Bath Time
Check out the video of Brax swimming in the bath- first time for this! So fun! I turned the video off just as the splashing craziness began.

ALS
I am not sure when, but I first learned of ALS when reading about Steve Gleason. He played college football and for the New Orleans Saints. In 2006, he blocked a punt in the New Orleans Superdome making it the play for the first score in over 21 months since Hurricane Katrina. They won unexpectedly and had a great season with a rebirth for the city. I have followed his blog and his story. He has a wife and almost three-year-old son who love him so much. They endured the pain of infertility like us, too before the ALS diagnosis. I cannot imagine losing all control of my body while my mind stays intact. I know there are so many causes to give to in the world, but I am happy to donate to ALS and see it being recognized worldwide. I know some people are tired of seeing the challenge on social media, but I guarantee if those people had ALS, they would never think this way. Brax didn't know what to think when I dumped the bucket on my head, but he wanted to watch the video on my phone over and over tonight. He kept grabbing my phone and saying wet. Prayers to everyone with ALS! We are thinking and praying for you always!
And (Sand)
While Wade's mom and aunt were visiting, we took a trip to Home Depot to pick up some sand for Brax. He calls it "and" since the "s" sound isn't developed, yet. At school, he loves sitting in the sand and playing. He didn't seem too interested, but the sand was a little wet. We will see if he likes it more in the next few days.

Baby Sammy
Last week, I had a training so Brax got to spend a few days with baby Sammy. He really likes Sammy and calls most other babies, "Sammy."
playing while Sammy naps
eating McDonald's chicken nuggets for lunch- I was not happy about this since he had never had McDonald's before, and he did throw up after I got home.
giving Sammy his baby doll's pacifier
getting his hat wet
checking on Sammy while he is napping
Owwwie
Brax loves going up to pine trees and touching them with his head or hand. Then, he says, "Owwwie." Check out the video:
Mmmmmmmmm
On Sunday, Brax ate such a good big dinner that he got an Oreo ice cream bar for dessert. Don't worry, he didn't eat it all! Everyone deserves a treat the night before the first day of school. Check out the video and pictures.
Cat
Well, Brax was eating in his high chair facing towards the sliding door so he could see the backyard. I was facing him with my back to the yard. All of a sudden, Brax started yelling, "Cat, cat, cat." Yes, you were right, buddy.
Please
Brax now says please instead of signing it. It is so nice that he has can ask for something nicely instead of whining. Check out the video.
Drawing
Today, we decided to take some paper outside and draw with markers and crayons. It was the first time Brax didn't try to eat the crayons or markers. Hurrah! He did take the crayon and start to draw on the patio so I got out some sidewalk chalk. However, he did try to eat the chalk!
The Neighbors
Our neighbor dogs, Tebow and Chachi, came out to visit the other day. Brax likes to try and whistle to get them to come out. He is pretty sweet to them.
Elmo Chair
Grandma sent an Elmo chair to Brax. He sure likes to sit in it by himself. It is the only chair in our home he can get into without help!
Reading
Brax can read! When we read the Elmo baby book, he points and says the words Dada and Mama. I decided to see if it would transfer and wrote the words on a piece of paper. Check out the video of him reading. We are still working on his name. He does know the sound that B makes, too.
When we were reading this sports book, we turned to this page, and Brax said,
"Help me. Help me. Stuck." Pretty cute!

The End of Summer :(
I am so so sad that summer is coming to a close. We have one week left before all the craziness begins. This weekend, I was able to go for a long run and have an acupuncture appointment, Wade was able to golf, Brax got another new toy and some balls, and we spent time with friends and neighbors. We tried to pack all we could in the weekend. I have to work three days this week. I am thankful I have off Thursday and Friday to get in some more time with Brax. I have had so much fun with him this summer, and I am going to miss him so so much! Also, it is nice that Wade has Friday off of work, and we get to spend the upcoming weekend with Grandpa Lyle without having to worry about work or school obligations, yet. Then, the following Monday, Brax starts daycare full time, I start work full time, and Wade starts school full time along with his full time job. It is going to be hard to be away from Brax and have Wade gone every night of the week in class. It'll be a shock to all of us. I didn't get many pictures from the weekend, but managed to get a few of Brax at dinner. We went to Freddy's steakburgers. It was delicious! Brax kept asking for more and more of Wade's strawberry shake. When that was gone, he kept asking for more and more of my chocolate shake. He managed to eat plenty of fries along with some bites of a burger and grilled cheese. Not the healthiest dinner, but we had a good time!

The Cancelled Park Date
Well, we were walking to the new park by the lake with our neighbors after nap and got caught in a rainstorm. Luckily, we were only three blocks away. Brax was not too happy so I ended up running back with the wagon in tow. When we got back, we talked with our neighbor and baby Luke. He said Luke about ten times. Now, running off some energy inside before our dinner plans. I am so hoping it clears up soon!
